Cancer health disparities, particularly among racial and ethnic minorities, persist in various aspects, including incidence, treatment, and clinical trial participation. Studies highlight low enrollment of Black, African American, and Hispanic patients in clinical trials, often resulting in disparities in treatment access and outcomes. Peer support programs have shown promise in addressing these disparities by providing practical and emotional support, aiding in care navigation, and increasing understanding of health issues.
